Tuzla Shipbuilding Industry S.A. is one of the oldest shipyards in Turkey, with a history dating back to 1977. The yard is located in the Tuzla suburb of Istanbul, in the north eastern area of the Sea of Marmara and close to the southern entrance to the Bosphorus.

Financial control of the yard was taken over in 2000 by Gemak Shipbuilding Industry & Trading S.A., who instigated a restructuring which included the upgrading of facilities and the setting up of a new organisation better suited to the requirements of the international market. The company has the world class skills required to construct a variety of vessel types.
